Turnstile frontman Brendan Yates stopped the band’s October 5, 2026, set at The Criterion in Oklahoma City and demanded a security guard’s removal following an incident involving a fan.
Reddit user Varietis posted footage and said the guard pulled a fan down as they tried to reach the stage, then swung at them. Metal Injection reported that Yates interrupted “Keep It Moving,” left the stage and confronted the guard while calling for his removal.

After returning to the microphone, Yates objected to guards swinging at fans coming over the barrier. He also thanked the security staff he felt were handling the crowd well, directing his criticism at the guard involved in the incident. “That security guard cannot be here,” he said, according to the outlet’s transcription.
Yates told the audience that Turnstile would keep playing and thanked the remaining staff for “adjusting and keeping this peaceful.”
