Beartooth’s Summer 2024 Tour at Hollywood Casino

1 min read

The Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course was the place to be Saturday night as Beartooth, supported by Nevertel, Boundaries, and Currents, delivered a performance that was nothing short of electrifying.

Nevertel kicked things off with their unique blend of hip-hop-infused rock, quickly energizing the crowd with catchy choruses and dynamic stage presence. Their set was a perfect appetizer for the metal feast to come.

Boundaries followed, bringing a ferocious energy that had the crowd moshing from the get-go. Their hardcore-influenced riffs and commanding presence proved why they are one of the rising stars in the metalcore scene.

Currents then took the stage, offering a more melodic yet equally intense performance. Their emotionally charged set, filled with powerful vocals and crushing breakdowns, captivated the audience and set the perfect mood for the headliners.

When Beartooth finally hit the stage, the anticipation was palpable. Caleb Shomo and his bandmates exploded into their set with a burst of energy, complete with confetti cannons and an impressive light show. Shomo’s stage presence was magnetic, commanding every inch and connecting deeply with the audience.

A particularly memorable moment came when Shomo moved to a second soundboard stage for an acoustic interlude. Stripping down the intensity, he delivered heartfelt renditions of The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside” and Beartooth’s own “Look The Other Way.” This unexpected acoustic set provided a touching contrast to the night’s high-energy performances, showcasing Shomo’s versatility and emotional depth.

The setlist was a well-balanced mix of old favorites and tracks from their latest album, The Surface. Highlights included the anthemic “I Was Alive,” dedicated to Shomo’s late grandfather, which provided a touching moment amidst the chaos.

Overall, the night was a testament to the raw power and passion of live metalcore. Each band brought their unique style and energy, creating an unforgettable experience for everyone in attendance. Beartooth’s performance, in particular, showcased why they are at the top of their game, leaving fans eagerly anticipating their next show.
