The Hersheypark Stadium was the epicenter of hard rock and metal on August 2, 2024, as it hosted a powerhouse lineup featuring Five Finger Death Punch, Marilyn Manson, Slaughter to Prevail, and The Funeral Portrait. This concert kicked off Five Finger Death Punch’s U.S. summer tour, and it did not disappoint.
Opening the evening was The Funeral Portrait, an emo rock band that set the tone with their emotionally charged performance. Their setlist included fan favorites and showcased their dynamic stage presence. Despite being the first act, they managed to captivate the audience with their energy and raw emotion, warming up the crowd for the heavier acts to follow.
Next up was the Russian deathcore band, Slaughter to Prevail. Known for their brutal sound and intense performances, they delivered a set that was both aggressive and technically impressive. The songs “Demolisher” and “Viking” especially had the crowd in a frenzy, with mosh pits forming almost immediately. Vocalist Alex Terrible’s guttural growls and the band’s tight instrumentation left a lasting impression on the audience.
Marilyn Manson‘s performance was highly anticipated, as it marked his first live show in nearly five years. Manson did not disappoint, delivering a theatrical and haunting set that included his hits “The Beautiful People,” “The Dope Show,” and “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)”. His return to the stage was marked by a mix of nostalgia and renewed energy, with a setlist that spanned his career. The addition of new touring members, including Reba Meyers from Code Orange on guitar, brought a fresh dynamic to his performance. Despite not playing his latest single, “As Sick As The Secrets Within,” Manson’s set was a highlight of the evening.
Headliner Five Finger Death Punch closed the night with a powerful and polished performance. The multi-platinum band brought their signature blend of hard rock and metal to the stage, playing a mix of new tracks and classic hits. Fan favorites “Wash It All Away,” “Jekyll and Hyde,” and “Wrong Side of Heaven” had the crowd singing along and headbanging in unison. The band’s tight musicianship and frontman Ivan Moody’s commanding presence made for an unforgettable show. The confetti cannons and stage production added an extra layer of excitement, making it a fitting end to a night of relentless rock and metal.
Hey there, it seems you are the only media with pictures coming up on google from this evening. I saw a photographer taking pictures of the crowd during this concert. Do you have any available?
Hey Courtney! I don’t always post the crowd shots if they don’t look too engaging. But, honesty since Green Day just canceled tonight I have some time on my hands. Shoot me a DM on Instagram @rockdocumentedLLC and if I can find you in any I’ll send them your way!
