Black Veil Brides brought one of the most anticipated stops of their North American tour to The Sylvee, and fans made that obvious long before the lights dropped. The energy outside the venue was already intense, with lines packed full of fans buzzing about the night’s stacked lineup featuring As December Falls, TX2, From Ashes To New, and Black Veil Brides.
Opening the night, UK rockers As December Falls hit the stage with huge smiles and nonstop energy during their first ever U.S. tour. The excitement from the band was impossible to miss, and the crowd fed right into it. Songs like “Carousel” and “I Don’t Feel Like Feeling Great” immediately grabbed attention and left plenty of people wanting more by the end of the set.
TX2 took things in a much heavier direction. The band exploded onto the stage with pure chaos and aggression, constantly moving and throwing themselves into every song. During “Vendetta,” vocalist Timothy Evan Thomas and guitarist Cameron Rostami jumped off the stage, climbed the barricade, and performed directly in the crowd. Reactions throughout the audience felt mixed, but the fans who were into the set were fully committed from start to finish.
Next up was From Ashes To New, a band that continues proving why they have become such a force live. Opening with “New Disease,” the set immediately hit hard thanks to Lance Dowdle’s crushing guitar work and Danny Case’s powerful vocals before Matt Brandyberry brought in the rap driven side of the band’s signature sound. The production felt massive, with some of the best lighting and sound I’ve personally seen from them. Crowd surfing broke out almost instantly and never really stopped. Tracks like “Nightmare,” “Barely Breathing,” and the closing song “Panic” kept the momentum rolling through all eight songs. Honestly, the set could have been twice as long and nobody would have complained.
Once it was finally time for Black Veil Brides, the room exploded. Fans started chanting the band’s name before the lights even dropped. One by one, candelabras across the stage lit up as organ music filled the venue before the band stormed into “Knives and Pens” to kick off the night.
Andy Biersack commanded the stage for the entire set, pacing back and forth while delivering huge vocals as the rest of the band constantly rotated positions and played off each other throughout the performance. The connection between Black Veil Brides and their fans was impossible to ignore. During “Carolyn,” one lucky fan was even brought on stage to play flute with the band, creating one of the most memorable moments of the night.
The setlist was packed with fan favorites including “The Legacy,” “Coffin,” and “Vindicated” before ending with a massive three song encore. Across all 18 songs, Black Veil Brides delivered exactly what fans came for: huge production, massive energy, and a performance that felt much bigger than the venue itself.
With four bands bringing something completely different to the stage, the night felt nonstop from beginning to end and left the crowd already waiting for the next time this tour rolls through town.
