5 Seconds of Summer Brought an Unforgettable Night to Hershey

1 min read

On Sunday, May 31, Australian pop-rock powerhouse 5 Seconds of Summer brought their highly anticipated EVERYONE’S A STAR! World Tour to Hershey, Pennsylvania, performing before what appeared to be a near-capacity crowd. The band is touring in support of their 6th album of the same name. The current tour kicked off in March in Europe and will wrap in November. From the early morning hours to the final encore, the excitement surrounding the show was impossible to miss.

Dedicated fans began lining up as early as 7:00 a.m. to secure coveted spots near the stage, demonstrating the loyalty and enthusiasm that have helped propel the band to international success. By show time, the atmosphere inside the venue was electric, with thousands of fans eagerly awaiting the band’s arrival.

Opening the evening was The Band Camino, whose energetic set and polished performance proved to be the perfect warm-up for the headliners. The Nashville-based group quickly connected with the audience, setting the stage for a memorable night of live music.

One of the most striking elements of the concert was the massive stage production. The centerpiece was an expansive catwalk extending into the crowd and forming a large circular platform. Inside the circle sat an exclusive VIP viewing pit, giving a select group of fans an up-close experience unlike anything else in the venue. The innovative design allowed 5 Seconds of Summer to engage fans from every angle, creating an intimate feel despite the large crowd.

When the band finally took the stage, the response was deafening. Fans sang along to every word, turning the venue into a massive choir. The energy never dipped as the band moved seamlessly through fan favorites and newer material, with the audience matching their intensity throughout the evening. The set list consisted of a whopping 27 songs, including such hits as Youngblood, Amnesia, She Looks so Perfect, She’s Kinda Hot, and Teeth.

What stood out most was the connection between the band and their fans. Whether performing from the main stage or making their way around the circular catwalk, the members of 5 Seconds of Summer made a point of acknowledging every section of the venue. The result was a show that felt both massive in scale and personal in execution.

With a near sellout crowd, passionate fans who had waited all day for the best views, a standout opening performance from The Band Camino, and an impressive stage setup that enhanced every moment of the show, Hershey’s May 31 concert was a resounding success. For those in attendance, it was more than just a concert—it was a celebration of music, community, and the enduring bond between 5 Seconds of Summer and their devoted fans.

The United States leg of the tour runs through the end of August.

Sharon has been shooting music since the 80s. She started with local bands and worked her way up to becoming the house photographer for Hershey for many years. She also spent several years photographing the in-park entertainment at Hersheypark. At one point, she even had the opportunity to spend a few days on the road with Poison. Her photos were featured in their tour book as well as in the Flesh and Blood liner notes. Sharon has also been a photographer for Stars on Ice for the last six years, with her work appearing in their tour books, merchandise, and billboard campaigns. Sharon also has a passion for wildlife photography. The concept behind both concerts and wildlife is surprisingly similar — you need to know your subject, understand their habits, and be ready to anticipate the action. When she isn’t behind the camera, Sharon works as an IT Project Manager in the Harrisburg area.
