Ice Nine Kills Set Christmas EP Before Their 2027 Album

1 min read

Ice Nine Kills will release A Very Vicious Christmas on November 9, 2026, ahead of a new studio album in 2027. Frontman Spencer Charnas shared the plans at Silver Scream Con V in Worcester, Massachusetts, naming the album The Silver Scream 3: Every Flick in the Book.

The Christmas EP grew out of the band’s music for Terror Tram starring Art the Clown at Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights. Its versions of holiday standards include “Joy to the World,” with the recordings already being heard by visitors to the attraction. The band confirmed the November release in an October 4 Instagram announcement.

The seasonal material has a specific setting. Art the Clown’s takeover turns Universal’s backlot into his own Christmas celebration, extending the world of Terrifier 3 through a new story. In Universal’s account of the attraction’s development, creative director John Murdy explained that the team worked with filmmaker Damien Leone to build an experience beyond a direct recreation of the movie. Familiar Christmas imagery becomes part of Art’s territory, from a tree farm and hostile elves to a workshop where he makes weapons.

For Ice Nine Kills, the project continues a relationship that began before this year’s Halloween season. Their song “A Work of Art” appeared in Terrifier 3, and David Howard Thornton reprised his role as Art in its music video. Leone and members of the films’ cast have also appeared at the band’s Silver Scream conventions.

“Halloween Horror Nights is among our favorite destinations each season, and our fans love it, too,” Charnas said in the August announcement of the Terror Tram collaboration. He also credited Leone and his team for welcoming the band into the franchise. With the EP, the music created for that attraction will receive a release outside the park.

The album announcement extends a different part of Ice Nine Kills’ horror catalog. The Silver Scream arrived in 2018, followed by The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood in 2021. Both built songs around horror films, making the newly announced record the third installment in that series.

No exact album release date or track list accompanied the announcement. The confirmed next release is the Christmas EP, which is available to presave through the band’s official page.
