Nickelback have released Everything Under The Sun, their 11th studio album and first since 2022’s Get Rollin’. Out October 30 through Virgin Music Group, the 12 track collection opens with “Rattle The Cage,” featuring guitarist John 5, and expands its guest list to include Sammy Hagar, members of Shinedown and actor Ryan Reynolds.
Leading the album’s announcement with “Rattle The Cage” put Nickelback’s heavier playing up front. Chad Kroeger described the song as drawing on the energy the band had been experiencing onstage. Bassist Mike Kroeger addressed that side of their identity during an Audacy interview with Abe Kanan, explaining that listeners who know the radio singles can have a narrower impression of the band. “We’ve been metalheads to one degree or another, all of us, the whole time,” he said. He pointed to the album tracks as another way into their music.
The record also gathers material that predates its announcement. “Bones For The Crows” was originally created for the 2023 video game Dungeon Hunter 6 and appeared in its promotional campaign before receiving a standalone digital release in March 2026. It takes the second spot on Everything Under The Sun, immediately after “Rattle The Cage.”
The other advance singles introduced different concerns. Discussing “Leave Me Behind,” Chad described a song about supporting someone through difficult experiences while also confronting the fear of being left behind yourself. “There’s a lot of weight in this song, but there’s also a lot of hope,” he said in the single’s announcement. That concern for another person carries into “Lift Somebody Up,” while “Make Me Love You” deals with the uncertainty of opening yourself to a relationship. The album’s release announcement also describes “If I Don’t Go” as a story about leaving familiar surroundings and breaking destructive patterns.
“Lift Somebody Up” gives its message a notably large group of contributors. Hagar and Brent Smith join Chad on vocals, with Zach Myers and Joe Bonamassa contributing guitar and Tommy Lee and Charlie Benante contributing drums. Reynolds appears elsewhere, introducing “Technicolor Steamboat.” Apple Music’s album notes describe his delivery as drawing on Gene Wilder’s Willy Wonka, placing the actor’s cameo in a different setting from the record’s rock collaborations.
The release begins Nickelback’s album partnership with Virgin Music Group, following their previous two studio records through BMG. Everything Under The Sun is available digitally and in physical editions, with the band’s official album page listing vinyl and CD options.
Nickelback will take the album on the road in 2027. Their previously announced Everything Under The Sun Tour begins February 6 at Pittsburgh’s PPG Paints Arena, with Don Broco joining as support. The itinerary continues through North America before reaching the UK and Europe, followed by Australia in October. The band’s official tour page carries the dates and ticket links.
