The Metal Titans Return: Pantera’s Unforgettable Night in Hershey

Detroit-based Child Bite opened the night with an energetic performance that left the audience craving more. Their unique blend of punk and hardcore influences, combined with frontman Shawn Knight’s wild stage presence, made for a captivating show. The band played a selection of songs from their discography, including “Smog & Viscera,” “Swan Song of a Boiled Dog,” and “Glazed in a Skeletal Maze”. Child Bite’s performance was a fitting appetizer for the metal feast that was about to unfold.

Lamb of God took the stage next, delivering a high-octane performance that showcased their signature aggressive, groove-oriented sound. Opening with “Memento Mori” from their 2020 self-titled album, the band quickly transitioned into fan favorites like “Walk With Me in Hell” and “Ruin”. Frontman Randy Blythe’s relentless energy and powerful vocals captivated the audience, while the band’s tight musicianship shone through in every song. Lamb of God’s set was a testament to their status as one of the most respected and influential acts in the heavy metal genre.

The main event of the evening was the long-awaited performance by metal legends Pantera. This marked the band’s first tour in 22 years, featuring surviving members Philip Anselmo and Rex Brown, along with Zakk Wylde on guitar and Charlie Benante on drums. The band kicked off their set with “A New Level,” followed by a mix of iconic tracks like “Mouth for War,” “Strength Beyond Strength,” “Becoming,” “I’m Broken,” “Suicide Note Pt. II,” “5 Minutes Alone,” “This Love,” “Fucking Hostile,” and “Walk”. Pantera’s performance was nothing short of electrifying, with each member delivering a powerhouse performance that demonstrated their immense talent and passion for their craft. The chemistry between the band members was palpable, and the audience could feel the emotion behind every note. The energy in Hersheypark Stadium was electric, as fans sang along to every word and reveled in the triumphant return of these metal icons.
