Nickelback premiered the official music video for “Leave Me Behind” on September 14, 2026. Directed by Timothy Hiehle and produced through Another Video, the clip accompanies the third advance track from the band’s forthcoming album, Everything Under The Sun.
The single was released on August 21, with a visualizer preceding the full music video. Frontman Chad Kroeger described a relationship in which offering someone support comes with a vulnerable request of his own: that they will stay with him as they move past whatever has hurt them.
“There’s a lot of weight in this song, but there’s also a lot of hope,” Kroeger said in comments published by Classic Rock. He explained that the song concerns helping someone through experiences that have worn them down, sharing their burden and reminding them they have support. Alongside that reassurance is the singer’s own fear of being left behind. Kroeger said the tension between those feelings was part of what made the song personal.
The ballad follows “Rattle The Cage,” featuring guitarist John 5, which accompanied Nickelback’s album announcement in July. Kroeger connected that track to the energy the band had experienced onstage, while describing the wider record as a collection that would accommodate both heavy material and songs taking different approaches. “Bones For The Crows” also appears on the album alongside the two singles.
Everything Under The Sun is Nickelback’s eleventh studio album and their first with Virgin Music Group. It follows Get Rollin’, released in 2022 through BMG, which also issued the band’s 2017 album Feed The Machine. The new record is scheduled for October 30, 2026.
