Faith Drives Cody Jinks and Alice Cooper’s “Moving Mountains”

Cody Jinks and Alice Cooper have released “Moving Mountains,” a new duet written with Bob Ezrin. The single arrived October 2, 2026, through Jinks’ Late August Records, accompanied by an official music video on his YouTube channel.

Cooper agreed to sing on the track after hearing a rough demo. In the release announcement, he connected Jinks’ independence with his own outsider persona. “The music has always come first,” Cooper said, explaining his interest in working with a country songwriter.

The song uses preparations for a long tour as a metaphor for spiritual readiness, considering the choices people make before an uncertain journey. Faith and perseverance guide that idea, with no particular genre imposed at the writing stage.

Jinks’ route into country began with a different kind of band. In the autobiographical account on his official website, he recalls forming a garage group at 17 that eventually became Unchecked Aggression. The metal band recorded an album and built a following around Dallas and Fort Worth before an unsuccessful attempt to establish itself in Los Angeles. Jinks returned home, worked other jobs and began playing music full time in 2007.

Those early years also shaped the practical side of his career. Jinks credits his metal background with teaching him to book shows, organize performances and work in a studio. He later applied those skills to managing a band and routing tours, handling bookings with bassist Joshua Thompson during their first six years playing together.

Heavy music remained part of his recorded work. On November 12, 2021, Jinks released his country album Mercy alongside None the Wiser by Caned By Nod. He sang on the latter, which Edward Spear produced. Both sides of his career reached listeners on the same release day, years before the Cooper collaboration.

“Moving Mountains” is also set to be serviced to rock and contemporary Christian radio.
