Papa Roach have canceled their appearance at Louder Than Life in Louisville, Kentucky, after bassist Tobin Esperance experienced an unexpected medical emergency. The band announced the withdrawal on September 18, ahead of their scheduled Saturday performance.
In a statement posted to Instagram, Papa Roach said they had consulted medical professionals and determined that Esperance would be unable to perform that weekend. The group withdrew its festival set and offered its best wishes to those attending.
“Right now, Tobin’s health is our immediate concern,” the band wrote.
The statement did not identify the medical issue or give details about treatment. Papa Roach thanked fans for their continued support and asked them to respect Esperance’s privacy.
The band pointed to November as the month it looks forward to having him back onstage. Its announcement did not specify a return date or confirm medical clearance to perform.
