In This Moment Revisit “Whore” in SiriusXM Session

In This Moment are reaching back to Blood in newly released footage from their SiriusXM studio session. The band’s performance of “Whore” is available on the broadcaster’s official YouTube channel, following the release of “I Want To Believe” from the same appearance.

“Whore” originally appeared on the band’s fourth album, Blood, in 2012 before receiving its own single campaign the following year. Its confrontational title came with a specific intention. Maria Brink wanted to challenge the power of a degrading label and encourage listeners to reject the judgments placed on them.

“The message behind this song is taking back control,” Brink explained in the band’s 2013 single announcement. She also gave the title another meaning through the phrase “Women Honoring One Another Rising Eternally.” Guitarist Chris Howorth described the same intention from another angle, arguing that the word’s ability to hurt depended on the power people gave it. For both musicians, the provocation served a message about reclaiming control over how others defined them.

Brink carried that idea into the original music video, directed by Robert Kley and featuring Motionless In White vocalist Chris Motionless. In the announcement accompanying its release, she explained that she had been considering the song’s visual presentation since it was written and wanted the imagery to express its themes of personal strength.

The SiriusXM footage returns the focus to a performance of the song while also connecting two periods of the band’s catalog. Their other released selection from the session, “I Want To Believe,” appears on Witch, their ninth studio album and first for Better Noise Music, released August 28, 2026. The album recording features Dayseeker vocalist Rory Rodriguez.
