Ninth Key will release “Dark Time Sunshine” on September 25, 2026. The band featuring Ekoh and Lø Spirit is preparing its fourth single, following a summer that included “Happy Feels Like” and “No Place Like Home.”
Ekoh introduced the song on Facebook as “KEY number 4,” with Ninth Key offering a little more about its emotional direction in a comment beneath his announcement. “This one is going to heal some broken hearts,” the band wrote.
The partnership began before the Ninth Key name. Ekoh and Lø Spirit, the singer, songwriter and producer Joshua Landry, collaborated on “Hello Løneliness” in 2023 and “Good Things” in 2024. Discussing the latter in an October 2024 interview with #HAPPENS, Ekoh traced its beginnings to a conversation between the two about adulthood. They had been talking about how mounting responsibilities could crowd out the things that once made them happy. That discussion became a song about questioning what had been lost while holding onto the possibility of feeling better.
Their work as Ninth Key draws on nu metal, alternative rock and hip hop, with the two continuing to write about identity, relationships and mental health. The band’s 2026 releases began with “If I Wasn’t Me” on May 22. “Happy Feels Like” followed in July, and “No Place Like Home” arrived on August 21, setting up the fourth installment Ekoh has announced.
