DragonForce will release their tenth studio album, DragonForce, on March 19, 2027, through Napalm Records. It is their first album with Alissa White-Gluz as a member, pairing her with Alessio Garavello in a lineup built around two lead vocalists.
The first single, “Hunger of the Beast,” introduces that partnership with an official performance video. The band wrote the song specifically around the range and contrasting abilities of the two singers, making their interaction part of the composition from the start.
Jens Bogren produced the album, with recording taking place across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Sweden. Founding guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman continue alongside bassist Alicia Vigil and drummer Gee Anzalone, with guitarist Billy Wilkins among the new additions. Mark Riddick created the album artwork.
White-Gluz’s work with DragonForce predates her membership. In June 2025, the band released a video for their version of “Burning Heart” featuring her vocals, revisiting a song from the Warp Speed Warriors era. She described the speed as a challenge even for the singer, recalling “tripping over consonants trying to keep up.” Li had wanted to work with her for some time and saw the song as a chance to explore her vocal range. That collaboration preceded the May 2026 announcement that she was joining DragonForce, with festival appearances at Welcome to Rockville and Sonic Temple introducing her to their live audiences.
The second half of the new vocal partnership comes amid a pause for Hudson. In a September 19 statement, DragonForce said he would step back from the forthcoming album and their 2026 and 2027 touring plans because of an ongoing issue with tinnitus. He remains involved behind the scenes, working with the band’s management.
“Protecting his hearing isn’t something we’d ever ask him to compromise on,” Li said. He emphasized that Hudson’s health took priority over continuing to perform and that the singer remained part of their daily work.
Garavello already knew the band and its music well. He is a longtime friend and Hudson’s former vocal coach, a connection Totman cited when explaining the choice. Totman said that experience gave Garavello an understanding of the songs, while stressing that he was being encouraged to sing in his own style.
Before the album arrives, DragonForce will tour North America with Ensiferum and Rhapsody of Fire on their previously announced Inhuman Rampage anniversary run. The 22 shows begin November 13 in San Diego and finish December 13 in Los Angeles. The band has promised new material alongside music from the 2006 album. Preorders for *DragonForce* are open.
