Rod Stewart will retire from touring after The Final Encore, a 2027 farewell run opening at Dublin’s 3Arena on April 23. Announced September 28, 2026, the tour includes six UK and Ireland shows before continuing across mainland Europe.
“After more than six decades, The Final Encore will most definitely be my last,” Stewart said in his tour announcement. He reflected on a performing career that began when he was 19 and thanked the audiences who had made it possible. The farewell shows, he explained, would give him a chance to express that gratitude through the music.
Stewart had previously discussed reducing the scale of his touring. In November 2024, he wrote on Instagram that he planned to stop undertaking major world tours, while insisting he had “no desire to retire.” At that point, he was considering smaller venues for his swing and Great American Songbook material. The Final Encore announcement now sets out his intention to finish touring altogether.
Howard Jones will support the UK and Ireland dates, which take Stewart from Dublin through Belfast, Glasgow, Birmingham and Manchester before reaching London’s The O2. The farewell concerts will draw on Stewart’s solo catalog, with “Maggie May,” “You Wear It Well,” “You’re in My Heart (The Final Acclaim)” and “Sailing” among the songs advertised for the shows.
The mainland European itinerary begins May 28 in Amsterdam and runs through July 24 in Hannover. Stewart also has two September performances scheduled at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, so the European closing date is not his last scheduled concert.
Fan club presales begin September 29, followed by additional local presales. UK tickets go on general sale October 2 at 10 a.m. local time.
