Avenged Sevenfold are putting the show that introduced The Stage on vinyl. The band played four songs on the roof of the Capitol Records Tower in Hollywood on October 27, 2016, just before their seventh album arrived as a surprise release. All four performances make their physical debut on the deluxe anniversary pressing, one of three editions the band announced through A7X World.
There’s a reason the rooftop recording is part of this edition. In May 2026, Avenged Sevenfold bought back the masters and rights to The Stage, its deluxe edition and Live at the GRAMMY Museum from Capitol. The band added the rooftop set to the digital deluxe album at the time. Fans who own the earlier deluxe pressing will remember a different concert on it: that edition included four performances from London’s O2 Arena.
What’s on each pressing
The $40 standard edition keeps the original 11 songs together on two black vinyl LPs, from the title track through “Exist,” with a new foil cover. The $80 deluxe edition uses an inverted color version of the foil artwork. Its four LPs make room for the covers, including “Wish You Were Here” and “God Only Knows,” as well as the Capitol rooftop performance.
The $200 Monolith box contains both of those pressings. The seventh LP is exclusive to the box and gives Live at the GRAMMY Museum its first vinyl release. Recorded in Los Angeles in October 2017, the acoustic set revisited “Hail to the King” alongside material from The Stage. On “Roman Sky,” a string section plays alongside the band. Avenged Sevenfold released this performance video when the acoustic recording first came out.
Monolith also picks up a question the band was asking in 2016. The Stage explored what might happen as artificial intelligence advanced. For the box, Avenged Sevenfold included an AI retrospective assessing which of the album’s predictions held up. It comes with a star guide, a holographic sticker and one of ten possible trading cards. A7X World lists all three editions on 180 gram black vinyl and asks buyers to allow six to eight weeks for shipping.
