Slipknot Posters Name Five Cities as Tour Rumors Grow

1 min read

Slipknot have a new teaser campaign circulating, with posters naming several US cities and directing fans to a website displaying the numbers 09 and 28. The numbers suggest September 28, but the band has not identified what the campaign will announce.

Photos shared in Slipknot’s Reddit fan community show matching red posters naming San Francisco, Hershey, Houston, Chicago and Washington, D.C. Each design pairs a city name with the band’s emblem and the address of its Unlock teaser site. Fans have interpreted the locations as possible clues to a tour, although the posters are not an announced itinerary.

The PRP reported on September 21 that the linked site displays Slipknot’s logo alongside the two numbers. No concert dates, venues, support acts or ticket sale details have been announced as part of the campaign.

The activity follows the release of “Arsenal,” a standalone single issued while Slipknot continue work on their eighth studio album. Guitarist Jim Root explained in Instagram comments reported by Metal Hammer that the band could finish that song sooner than the rest of the record. He described it as “not really representative” of the other material and said it would not be included on the album.

Slipknot have been working with producer Matt Wallace, and Root’s September studio updates indicated that recording was still underway. Neither the single nor the teaser establishes a release date for that project. For fans watching the campaign, September 28 is the apparent clue to its next development, with the nature of the announcement still undisclosed.
