The Funeral Portrait have released “My Future Prediction,” a new single about the future people imagine with a partner while overlooking the reasons it might never happen. Released November 6, 2026, through Better Noise Music, the song arrives with an official lyric video.
Vocalist Lee Jennings describes someone convincing themselves that a relationship is working despite mounting evidence otherwise. “Sometimes we fall in love with the life we imagined more than the person standing in front of us,” he says in the label’s announcement.
That tension runs through the lyrics. Familiar language from wedding vows becomes a promise of deterioration, with devotion tangled up in images of death and dependence. The narrator can recognize the warning signs and still struggle to walk away. By the closing passage, the perspective changes: the relationship’s ending becomes something to welcome, and the future once imagined together loses its hold.
It gives the title a bitter edge. Predicting the outcome offers little protection when someone keeps making excuses for the person they want to believe in. The final shift toward letting go gives the song somewhere to go beyond another account of betrayal.
The release follows a year that began with Live From Suffocate City, issued January 16. Their first live album documented the band’s 2025 hometown Suffocate City Town Hall performance, bringing songs from their existing catalog into a concert recording. “My Future Prediction” adds new material as the band continues its November arena run with Three Days Grace. Support dates with Black Veil Brides follow in the UK and Europe in January 2027.
Better Noise Music says a separate official music video will arrive next week. An exact premiere date has not been announced in the release.
